Lip Blush

"Lip blushing," a form of semi permanent makeup that transforms your lips by enhancing your natural color and providing more shape and definition.

What is a Lip PMU?

A cosmetic lip tattoo is a treatment that involves inserting pigments beneath the surface layer of the skin of your lips.

It can be done in several styles, from the opaque permanent lipstick, shape-perfecting permanent lip liner, to the sheer pop of colour through lip blushing or aquarelle lips.

It can also lighten dark lips and give them a warmer colour, and even camouflage scars.

The semi-permanent lip colour gradually fades and it requires occasional touch ups to stay fresh.

What does the Lip Blush treatment look like?

The PMU Lip Blush treatment is a process of micropigmentation, AKA cosmetic tattooing, which means that an electric needle device is used for inserting pigment into the skin of your lips.

Can I have the treatment the same day as my consultation?

You need to see me - the artist who will be doing your treatment beforehand to discuss the look you want, and to assess your lips. You need to disclose any conditions you may have and let me decide whether it’s safe for you to get the treatment done. You should also do a patch test that will reveal any potential allergies to pigments.

Do I need a skin test prior to the appointment?

An allergy test performed one week prior to the procedure can identify allergies to the pigment. However, there have been reported rare cases of delayed allergic reactions that have occurred years following the

procedure. Allergy testing of pigment does not guarantee the client will not react at a later time.

How to choose a permanent lip colour

The permanent lip colour can be done in any shade of red, pink, or orange, but since the results last up to 5 years, you want to be sure you will like wearing the colour for all that time. That’s why most clients go for subtle, flesh-toned shades that are suitable for any occasion and match any makeup look.

Can I get a Lip Blush/Tattoo if I have Lip Fillers?

Yes, PMU lips can be combined with lip fillers, but it’s better to get the lip blush first, as it’ll last longer than fillers. But if you've already got fillers, wait a while before booking your PMU lips appointment – it takes at least 6 weeks for the fillers to settle. You should be aware, though, that there’s a small chance of your fillers migrating due to the trauma of tattooing.

Is the PMU Lip treatment painful?

The lip area is very sensitive and having a needle pierce your lips over and over might sound a bit scary. However, a numbing cream is applied if needed in order to eliminate the pain. Most clients report that it’s uncomfortable, but not painful.

What affects the durability of the Lip Blush?

  • Skin type: The primary factor that affects how long a lip tattoo lasts is your skin type. People with oily skin will need more frequent touch-ups in order to maintain the colour since the excess sebum extracted from the pores around the lips pushes out the pigment.

  • Lifestyle: Your lifestyle plays an important part, too. If you do sports where you sweat or swim a lot, it is more likely that your tattooed lips will start losing their colour faster. The same goes for smoking.

  • Sunlight exposure: The sun can accelerate the fading of PMU pigments.

  • Skincare products: Certain skincare ingredients cause PMU to fade faster, primarily Retinol and acids. The same goes for any mechanical exfoliation that removes pigmented cells.

  • Touch ups: If you have frequent touch-ups, your permanent lip colour will naturally last longer.

Who should consider a Lip PMU?

Lip blush is ideal for those who dislike reapplying lipstick frequently or want to add some volume to their lips. While it doesn't offer the full effect of lip fillers, it does make lips appear fuller.

Permanent lipstick is also great for uneven lips. It will hide any shape imperfections and make the lips more symmetrical.

Please make sure to review the list prior to the booking.
