EPN PEN
FAQs
We are so excited to introduce this new treatment at Lolfa Lois but understand that you may have questions regarding what the treatment entails. I have prepared a series of questions and answers below just to inform you of what to expect and the most frequently asked questions.

What is EPN PEN?
-
EPN PEN offers a unique combination of the latest clinically proven technologies for face and body treatments. Microneedling and Electroporation come together to give maximum results - illuminating and brightening the skin whilst reducing the common signs of ageing
What is Microneedling?
-
Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment used to target a variety of skin conditions on the face and body. Needles are used to penetrate the skin at a variety of depths to create a wound healing response. This in turn encourages the skin to produce new collagen and elastin to give patients younger-looking skin.
What is Electroporation?
-
EPN is the abbreviation for ElectroPoration Needle. Electroporation is a technique in which an electrical field is applied to the skin’s cells in order to increase the permeability of the membranes, allowing topical products to be introduced into the cell more efficiently. Its application to the skin has been shown to significantly increase transdermal product delivery. Electroporation can be used alone or in combination with skin microneedling which enhances the range of products that can be delivered trans-dermally.
What does Microneedling treat?
-
Fine lines and wrinkles
-
Acne and surgical scars
-
Skin tone
-
The appearance of stretch marks
-
Skin texture
-
Skin laxity
-
Reduce open pores
How does it work?
-
Our EPN Pen combines electroporation and microneedling technology to give clients maximum skin rejuvenating results, through the stimulation of the skin’s own wound healing process and the increased absorption of active ingredients.
How long does the Treatment take?
-
The treatment usually takes between 15 and 60 minutes, depending on the area to be treated.
What does it feel like? Does it hurt?
-
During a microneedling treatment, there is generally minimal discomfort. The EPN Pen uses ultrafine needles, which provide more comfort than other devices. You should feel a warming sensation following treatment which will then subside over the course of a few hours. Topical anaesthetics can be applied before treatment if you have sensitive skin.
How many sessions will I need?
Results can be seen after one session, but a minimum of 3 and up to 6 treatments, at 4-week intervals, deliver the best results depending on the skin concern.
When will I see results?
Some clients feel a difference in the elasticity of their skin in as little as 24 hours. However, the longlasting results will be seen between 4-6 weeks post-treatment as this is the time frame in which it takes the body to produce new healthy collagen and elastin.
Is there any reason why I shouldn’t have the treatment?
-
If you have any of the following medical conditions, we advise you not to undertake this treatment:
-
general poor health
-
cancer
-
pregnancy
-
metal implants near the treatment area
-
history of Bell’s Palsy
-
keloid scarring
-
active coldsores.
-
-
Lynton also advises that the treatment shouldn’t be used directly onto any tattoos.
-
If you suffer from Melasma - a pigmentary disorder that presents itself as symmetrical pigmented areas, commonly on the forehead, cheeks and upper lip - microneedling is not recommended.
I hope the above information gives you information on what to expect before/during and after treatment. I have a great duty of care and I will monitor the progress of your skin throughout.
If you have any other questions don’t hesitate to ask, I am here to help!
